MEDIA RELEASE JANUARY 2025

NEW PARTNERSHIP TO ASSURE THE FUTURE GROWTH OF ICONIC MOTOR RACING EVENT
The Classic Motor Racing Club New Zealand is incredibly proud to announce a brand new naming rights sponsor and strategic partner has come on board to assist in marketing and support of our iconic Southern Classic meeting.
"We could not have found a better partner" is something we have all either said, or heard mentioned many times, however when we began communication with the NZ Classic Driver and Allied Media in 2025, it made sense from the onset that an organization with the experience of Allied Media, and the quality and reach of their NZ Classic Driver Magazine would enable our club and our event a far wider audience both now and into the future.
For all event promoters it is incredibly important to attract spectators through the gate from a financial point of view, but for our club it is also one of our highest priorities to illustrate what our sport is all about to as many new fans as possible who we hope will get "bitten by the bug" and head down the pathway of future involvement in classic and historic motor racing and classic car ownership. An hence our new partnership will provide us many exciting future marketing opportunities.
Allied Media may not be a new name to many older Classic Motor Racing Club members who will recall the golden days of the widely popular Dunedin Street Race event which was heavily supported for many years with Allied Press and the Otago Daily Times. Classic Vehicles and Motor Racing are held in very high esteem by the organization with current associations with the Auburn Classic, and the Auckland Brit Euro Show, and we believe our partnership will provide new opportunities for both parties, and for Classic Motor Racing generally to be visible to a far greater audience than ever before.
We look forward to working with Allied media for 2026 and beyond.
